‘There is nothing quite like having the sails set and your hand on a light helm to know things are going well!’
Blakeney Harbour Sailing
Ed has sailed in Blakeney Harbour and on the North Norfolk coast from the age of four, building up a wealth of experience of its beautiful charm and rugged nature. Sailing in all types of boats from small dinghies in Blakeney, the broads and various lakes to racing 48 foot Yachts in Sydney Harbour and on the Solent. Ed is a keen sailor and fisherman and can be seen regularly out at his crab pots or sailing his oyster.
Learning his craft in Blakeney Harbour from a young age at the local sailing school ran by Charlie Ward, Ed later went on to be ‘mate’ on Sailing Barge ‘JUNO’. Travelling many miles and building up great knowledge of the Harbour and the coastline that surrounds it.
Having run his own successful motorcycle dealership for many years Ed and his family decided to relocate closer to the coast and Blakeney Harbour, living in Langham, a stones throw from Morston.
Ed now teaches sailing and charters his Norfolk Oyster, continues in the motorcycle trade and offers marine engineering services to local boatyards.
